From audience feedback I’ve been told they think the layout and colour of my magazine represents the genre which is R’n’B and they think the audience for my magazine is directed at people of a black ethnicity mainly, both male and female and for teenagers and they were represented a positive light. I’m happy with those comments as that was the target audience I had in mind.

They felt my magazine was affordable for people who work and for students and for people with a normal lexis level which is exactly what I was trying to do. They said they really like the contents page. They like the layout and the way the 'UB' is faded into the background and how the pictures are used. It looks professional and it is easy to understand.

However they said they like it overall but if any changes could be made they would of edited the DPS picture to make sure the background looks even and use auto fix to make the lighting even because it is a bit light. They love the contents page so I wouldn't change anything. On the front cover they would make the text of teasers bigger and change the font as well. Perhaps make the masthead bigger. They think the colour scheme works really well together. I took my audience feedback into consideration and changed the things they said to however I couldn’t darken the area of the picture on the DPS so I had to leave it how it is. Overall i am happy with the audience feedback as it helped me to improve my magazine.

I changed the font of the title to match my front page and made the quote bigger so it catches the readers eye.

I changed 2 of the photographs on my contents page as i thought they fit better with my magazine, i also changed the font that contents, editors note, regulars and features to fit with the masthead on my front page. I also got rid of my fashion section as i realised it didn't fit in with my music magazine and added album reviews instead. On each picture i wrote a short sentence about what their part is in the magazine.

I changed the picture of the singer as i feel the pose she is doing fits better on the contents page than the other picture.

I used this picture to replace the other one because the other picture i had was for the fashion section which i got rid of so i thought this photo fit perfectly for my music magazine.

Here i was experimenting with fonts and released the font of the cover stories don't fit with the magazine. it doesn't look professional enough and looks out of place.

Front page final draft

I changed the font of the masthead and the main coverline because i wasn't able to get the masthead bigger with the font i was using and i think this font works well with my magazine. I also had to change the font of my other coverlines so that it looks as though it fits in with the page. I made the font bigger so that you can clearly see the issue number, price and  coverlines. I moved the position of the coverline on the right hand side because i felt it looked better near her head.

In my audience feedback i was told to add in the issue number, website and date. Also i was told to make all my coverlines the same size so it looks professional.

At first I did my contents page with a white background and on a double page. I wrote the editors note and features on the left side with one image and features and regulars on the right side with two more images and the initials of my magazine faded behind my text. I realised this didn’t work well so I changed the background colour to black, put the editors note, two pictures and regulars on the left hand side then placed the features, two more pictures and the word contents on the right and added the page number to the bottom of each page I figured it worked better.

From my audience feedback I was told to add page numbers on each of my pictures so it is clear to the audience what page it is on.

 

I decided to use this picture on my contents instead of the other one because the other one didnt fit with the page properly.

 

I added this picture to the contents page to represent concert dates.

From audience feedback I was told to make the title bigger and place it in the middle, make the photograph bigger and add a pull out quote I took this on board and applied it to my magazine.

 

I used this picture because she looks quite relaxed and i wanted that feel as that was the atmosphere when doing the interview.
